As mentioned above, if your investments were properly set up there should be no need to make fundamental changes.
This begs the question: how do you know if your investments were set up correctly in the first place? If you have a well-diversified investment portfolio containing a mixture of equities and bonds, which is line with your attitude to risk and capacity for loss, and the portfolio is regularly re-balanced you should be set up correctly.
However, if you are not properly diversified and overweight in a few volatile funds which do not match your attitude to risk you will not be properly set up. In this case you should seek advice about re-balancing your portfolio.
