This might make sense if you are worried about taking too much out of your pension pot when your pension pot has fallen in value.

The decision may be influenced by the amount of cash you have available in your drawdown plan. If you can take income from cash you will not be selling funds at low values so you ay not have to change your income.

If you are selling funds to pay income there may be a strong case to reduce your income until fund values increase.
