I am thinking about purchasing an annuity but are they still popular?

My adviser told me annuities are very poor and I should not buy one because after pension freedoms they are not very popular - what do you think?

It is true that annuities are not popular since pension freedoms but that doesn't mean you shouldn't consider them

Annuities are the only policy that secures income for life without any risk - they convert your pension pot into regular income

If you want a guaranteed income you should consider an annuity - a good adviser will explain the advantages and disadvantages of annuities and the alternative, drawdown
